The Scoop On Skylar
I am Skylar, the Founder and Creative Director of Groove Street Creative Agency.
I first dabbled in website design as a 13-year-old, fashion-obsessed girl with a YouTube and Blog called Styles By Sky. I quit my blog after kids in my computer class would pull it up and make fun of it. Said computer class was were I learned photoshop and illustrator. On the bright side, I learned that lesson early (but sometimes still need to be reminded) - I won’t let somebody else opinion what I create and put out ever again.
I was given the opportunity to be a buyer at a ski shop. At 17 years old with millions of dollars to spend on cool ski stuff. Through this, I learned so much about what it takes to run a business.
As a girl obsessed with fashion, the ONLY place I could go to school was The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC.
I was pursuing a degree in Fashion Business and a minor in Ethics and Sustainability. With a newfound passion for loving our planet. I started a new blog called Happy Earth Habits. Today, I have thousands of earth lovers following along with my sustainability journey and spreading the mama earth love with me.
In the blink of my eyes, I graduated via Zoom and moved all my stuff out of my East Village apartment and I am graduating via Zoom back home in my childhood bedroom.
I was applying for jobs and you guessed it. Nothing is happening. So I started to pick up some side gigs helping build websites and make logos. Turns out, it was totally my jam.
At first, it was called Skylar C Creative, but soon #glowedup to Groove Street. 3 years later, many rounds of edits, and hundreds of files titled “FINAL.THISONEISIT.ai” and with the help of some amazing team members, Groove Street Creative has helped many businesses bring there dreams to life too.
